SALAS hosted its fifth annual Networking Meeting on Friday,, September 28 at the Lethbridge Public Library, Main Branch. We had a great turnout with 59 people attending. Participants came from Brooks, Medicine Hat, and Calgary. We were pleased to have many Literacy Coordinators also in attendance. We continued to have a great mix of Private Businesses, government agencies, language schools, and other service provider groups attend. Ninety-one percent of the people attending the session ranked the importance of the Networking Meeting as important or very important. This year’s meeting featured four speakers: Jill Francis, Citizenship and Immigration; Christine Land, Province of Alberta; Cynthia Parr and two colleagues from School District #51 in Lethbridge; and Elma Guinto, Flexibility Learning Systems. Christine’s presentation is available on our website.
